Dell branded drives... who makes them?

its either WD or maxtor or seagate. its not set which you'll get, but its one of those 3.
 
most likely whichever manufacturer depends on what size HD you get since dell probably bargains with the manf. and buys whatever is cheapest whenver they can.
 
I've seen Maxtor, Seagate, Western Dig and Quantum in Dell computers. Don't know for sure if they use a specific brand now or what. Probably the best drive for the $$ at the time.
