This computer says it has a 15.4 inch WXGA screen, does this mean it is a widescreen display?

Secondly, it uses DDR2. Is the only difference between DDR2 and PC2700 speed, or are pin counts and such different?

Yes, it's a widescreen. I personally think 15.4" laptops are a little too bulky for travel, but that's up to user taste.

DDR 2 is completely different and not interchangeable with DDR-1. Different number of pins.

DDR2 Sodimms are 200-pin only whereas DDR Sodimms are 184-pin (just like the desktop counterparts). The performance comparison is more towards CL 2.5 PC2100s compared to PC2700 because they are DDR2-PC4200 CL5s

No they're not. Regular DDR (PC2100/2700/3200) SO-DIMMS are usually 200-pins.
