Dell Axim at $174 for everyone now

PocketPC is the best. I just wish that this thing had a PCMCIA slot like my @migo. I love my 2GB PCMCIA hard drive, I can get six full divx movies for the daily train ride. Good to see that these items are coming down in price.

Does software written for the 206mhz StrongARM processor run on the new processor?

Flicker problem with screen?

I was starting to get excited about this ppc but I hope Dell didn't cut too many corners...

That sucks. In that case, I would most difinately make use of the next day exchange program. But if the flicker is not that serious, I would keep it for say a month or two before deciding what to do.

And as of now, the current window CE is not optimized for Xscale processor, recall that the processor have been announced only a couple of months before.
I hope that we will get a free upgrade to the new Windows CE.

I ordered 2, but only got 1 confirmation email for each the SD and the Axim on only 1 order. Just go to the Home section, click on order status on the top and log in with your email address. My status shows both orders "in production", well the Axim orders at least. Both have an estimated shipping date, too. The SD orders are in preproduction.

The $50 Axim rebate looks good for multiple orders, too. The language says "one rebate per qualifying purchase".

These things look too big. I have an Ipaq 3970, and it is almost too big and heavy to be convenient (i.e. almost too big to be carried in the pants pocket, much less shirt pocket). In the comparisons I have seen, the Axim is much thicker. The new Ipaq's (don't remember the model #) are much thinner and lighter than the old models. I would check out the Toshiba e310 before the Axim. MUCH thinner and lighter...

Me too! There is a 5% off all purchases at Dell Small Business. You can also get a 15% coupon that is emailed to you if you sign up for emails but I haven't gotten mine as yet.
