Dell ATI Mobility 7500 64MB, Dell hasn't released updated drivers since 2002 - Can I install direct from ATI?

Title sums it up. I tried downloading several different drivers from ATI but they will not install. Dell hasn't updated theirs in a long time and I would like to squeeze out a bit more performance in this Inspirion 8100 and fix these annoying lockups.

trying using the omega radeon drivers. They will work with the radeon mobility chips. I'm using it on my dell 600m w/ radeon mobility 9000. Link to Omega Drivers

There is a hack out on the web that allows you to do exactly that, but I don't recall exactly where. I'll keep searching to see if I can find the link.

grimreaper19 is right,I have a 7500 in mine too and the standard ATI drivers will not install so you have to use Omega drivers which is not such a bad thing,eh.

Yep thanks, I have the drivers...

I'm just curious as to why Dell doesn't pass along new ATI driver releases.

I'm guessing because ATI doesn't even seem to support the mobile 7500.
