That chargeback was kind of a dik move. I know 3 weeks is a long time, but it is within reason.

So this is quite funny. I sent the POS alienware back 2 weeks ago. They received it last Thursday per UPS tracking. So today I still have yet to see a refund on my amex for the purchase. I call Dell to see what's going on and they proceed to tell me that it takes 3 weeks for them to process the refund. I have never returned anything to where it takes 3 weeks to refund. What are they smoking over there?

So ended up calling amex and doing a chargeback.

On what planet is 3 weeks to get a refund on a credit card within reason? I have returned items from tiny mom and pop shops and the refund was processed/completed in less than a week.

I would think that 3 days tops is a reasonable time frame for a refund. If it does take that long I would file a complaint with the BBB , ripoffreports and resellerratings.

Yeah, 3 weeks for a refund is a little ridiculous. At that point you are almost certain to have been charged interest on it.

Not sure where you're from that 3 weeks is reasonable for a refund. To me anything more than 3 days is too long. Most places I've had to refund items are within 1-2 days.

3 weeks isn't a big deal though on a CC. Just buy something else and before the payment is even due you'd have your refund credited negating the cost of the new purchase. Cost being the same or less that is. So it's not like he's actually out anything at all.
