Dell.....(advice)

Hey, I ordered a canon s80 on Wed Dec 14 and they bumped it to next day delivery. I am leaving for New Zealand on the 27th... When I bought it they gave me an estimated ship date of today 12/26/05, however, when I woke up I checked my order status and it said 1/2/05....I chatted with a customer service rep and she said wait for a couple more days....

Should I just cancel it or should I wait.....

I got the camera for 420.00 with a 2 year limited warranty that cost 80.00

Leave now in 11 days....Crap

You should get it way before what they say. That's been my experience.

However, another poster here ordered a camera about a year ago from dell, and it took forever.

Dell has actually been really good about this....I ordered it on wed with free 3-5 day shipping thinking that I would get it on time...I chatted with customer service and she gave me free next day shipping!!!!

I've learned that estimated shipping dates from Dell are worthless. My most recent order was an estimated ship date of 12/30/05, and shipped on Monday of this week.

I just recieved another email stating....blah blah blah, due to blah blah your order will be delayed until 1/3/06...Should I just cancel it or do you guys think it will still come?

I had estimated ship date of 5-7 days. It shipped the next day, arrived in 3 days.

I ordered a system on a Tuesday morning, received it that Friday. This was this month. The estimated ship date was way past this.

Normally when I order things it ships way sooner than the estimated time says. I ordered a printer a whiel ago and had it wihin 2 days.

For legal reasons, Dell has to pad their estimates by at least a week, depending on the product, it is more like 2 weeks. They have distribution centers all over the US, so you can end up with product in a normal 3-5 business days.

They've been pretty good on shipping before the date they say.

Uhh I bought my GF7800GT BEFORE my friend (10 min or so) and his got shipped the next day. 8/12 I think? I got mine delayed to 8/26 or something. Instead, I got it on 8/25/05, my birthday... =). So who knows.... I wouldn't say you're safe and you'll get it before u go on vacation, but you'll probably get it earlier..

Just checked the shipping status....It went out today, next day delivery.....YES!!!!
