my daughter has a 700m dell laptop. i would like to upgrade the hard drive to this

my question is since it is no longer under warranty how do i find out what type of connection it has ? sata or ata-6 as this drive comes in both flavors. i managed to correct the problems it was having but it would sure be nice to slap this faster drive into it. anybody here done this type of procedure before ?

trying to talk to dell about anything technical when your stuff is out of warranty is like squeezing wine from a stone !!

Another thing you could have done is just pull the old drive. Dell usually makes the Hard drive easily accessible.
 
i upgraded my 700m's hard drive a year ago... pretty simple just follow the link above if you actually need help
