I got in on the deal for the Dell 600SC server, and was wondering if I can replace the HSF on the Celeron 1.8GHz? The HSF it came with doesn't look like a normal P4/Celeron 478 pin heatsink. Is there a quiet HSF I can buy to replace the one that came with this server?

I thought most Celerons/Pent IIIs were Socket 370 - so they would use a more Athlon/Duron -like HSF. Let me recommend the Fanner 5F263B1M3G if that turns out to be so. Huge hunk of Al with a quiet 80x25mm fan on it. ( I happen to have a customized one - chromed fan w/ a "Contact" pattern finger guard - for sale if you're interested).
. Of course it might be assembled with an HS adhesive type of material. It would be a bit more tricky if that were the case.
. You would need to grip the HSF down near the CPU and gently twist until it breaks free. It always makes me a bit nervous :Q when I have to do that.

The Dell 600SC comes with the P4 478 pin celeron, no the socket 370 version. Seems like Dell their own special kind of HSF, different than those of the regular P4s.
