Dell 400SC AGP problem

My 400SC has a PCI video card in it, I tried to use my ATI Radeon 9000 pro AGP card in it and it doesn't recognize it.
Do I need to remove the PCI card before I try to install it?
 
Check the system BIOS for something like "Default Video Mode". Most motherboards have a place where you can pick between PCI or AGP.
