I do not have a console system, so I can not comment on that. However my HTPC eliminates the need of a TV / cable / satellite connection on the monitor.
Lot of talk comparing resolutions and connections. You have to realize the Dell 3007 is new and may have some issues (or not as some reviews are out). The Westy is at the tail end of its product life, the new 42 are slated. However, the panel in the Dell is superior to the Westy. Look at some of the specs, sure manufacturer may fudge, but if they both fudge . . .
I personally would not get either of them now, because of my above mentioned points. Also, the BB in Charleston had new in box Westinghouse (more than one, but not many more) for $1199 for anyone. Makes me think the brick and mortar BB are trying to move out a discontinued line.
FWIW, I bought mine about 8 months ago with 4 year warranty and tax for roughly $1750. Just my opinion.
