Dell 24inch monitor or 26 inch LCD TV, help please

Ok well I'm down to the last draw here. I've narrowed it down to the 24 inch dell monitor which is 799.00 or a 26/27 inch LCD TV which is that same price. I've passed on the 30 and 32 inch lcd tv 's they are just too big for me to use as a computer monitor.
Primary use for this is reading text etc all day and gaming at night. I can't decide. help please =)

Get the Dell. An LCD TV won't have near the resolution of a monitor made especially for computer use.
