is the monitor a lower color bitrate like the 1907 ? The 1905 was a far better monitor than th 1907, i hope the same doesn't hold tru for the whole 07 series.

2407 has just gone on sale here in .au today for $AUD1599.00

specs lead me to believe the panel is a different model than I'd originally thought, unless Dell are not giving correct specs because:
- 6ms GtG, 16ms TrTf (or back-to-white as they use)
- 450cd/m^2 (vs. the 500 on the 2405)

Dell Australia's monitor compare page

originally i'd seen reports that it was a samsung LTM240M2 panel. but that lists 500 brightness and 8ms grey-to-grey

Nice. It driving down the prices of the 2405FPW on eBay to $500, "Buy it now".

Thank goodness for little favors.

Sounds like they've got some some issues to work out..

I'm kinda looking forward to the BenQ FP241W now.
"FP241W supports HD 1080p input signal and has HDMI connector for multimedia task."
- Resolution 1920x1200
- Brightness 500cd/m²
- Contrast ratio 1000:1
- 8ms GTG
- Viewing angle 178/178
- Available in June 2006?

I must be the only one around here not excited. I have no desire to have anything to do with any of this DRM garbage. Heck, I don't have the desk space for a monitor larger than 19".

where the hell are these monitors?

2407 where aaaaare you???

guess its a good thing because I dont have money right now to pick one up, but still frustrating that waiting this long for the monitor to be available, and still not to this day.

yep, they are on dells site now. even an article is up on dailytech about it. dell quietly launched it though.

its the usual, HDCP, component, composite, s-video, 4 USB 2.0, etc...all that good stuff.

Well, my poor old Dell 1130P 21" Trinitron monitor is starting to die, so I need to upgrade to something soon as well.

Strange that they seem to have problems yet the reviews are positive.

Thanks for the informed discussion guys. It helps!

I just got a 2407 and the only complaint is it doesn't go as high as the 2405 did...it seems a little low on my desk, with it extended all the way up.
