link? I googled the xfx, nothing came up about dual link. dual dvi, yes, but not dual link.

Ati FireGl v5000 I believe is the cheapest you can get real dvi-DL on a PC. That asus card isn't acutally DVI-DL from what I've read, it's a bug that allows the transmitter to run out of spec.

I used a 30" cinema the other day. too beautiful, I'd have one if I had the cash. One of those paired with my 2048x1536 CRT would be heaven (with a quadro 4400 for each, of course)

No, heaven would be two 30" Cinemas hooked up to one of these. :)

You'll hate my brother. He has 3x 2405FPWs, brand new.

Yeah, I hate him too ;)

I've not used them myself but I hear they are sublime.

I will tell him I love him, but secretly hate him, and use my persuasive ways to take his 3 2405's, and his soul.

But seriously, that's awesome! What's he need 3 for though.. that's 72" of pure awesome.

eh, the 4400 is better at what I need it for (not that I'd complain about a couple free realizm 800s though).

Also, you'll pry my CRT from my cold dead hands before I'd do color work on an LCD with today's technology. They keep getting better, but they aint there yet.

ok, ok, TWO 30" cinema displays, with the CRT off the second port of one of the 4400s

or... IBM T221 (3840x2400) off one 4400, a 30" and the CRT off the other. yeah, that'd be heaven.

edit: mental price calculation: (2) $2000 + $7000 + $3000 = $14k in graphics cards and displays:Q

I think that price is ridiculous... but then again I did spend around $7000 on my guitar and amp... soo... fair enough. That'd be an awesome set up. Gonna check out the IBM T221 right now.

jeebus, that guy has $17K just in displays. But yeah, pretty close. Just needs a high end CRT for color stuff.

That's intense... I'd go with the Apple though... once stuff gets too small I start thinking I'm about to have an aneurism... maybe I'd get one after I saw the price tag too haha.

Anyone got pics of their Dell 2405FPW(s) in action?

Just go with the dell 24" for now...in a couple years dell will have a 30" LCD for about $1000 and then you can upgrade.
