To tack on to what brewty just said, it really isn't worth the money a KVM with these capabilities would cost. Hook one up to DVI, the other to VGA and then use the source button on the 2405 to switch in between. Note that this requires two mice and keyboards but IMO that's better than sacrificing video quality.

That sounds like the way to go, and most likely what brewty was referring to, but he also suggested retaining the KVM for mouse & keyboard.

Thanks,
Meph

Yep, that's what I meant by having to switch two things: the source on the LCD and the system on the KVM.

You can plug a USB mouse and keyboard into the 2405 (and Mephibosheth, it does come with both DVI and VGA cables). You then need only switch the monitor's USB cable from one to the other.

Yes, that's another good option. However, that means that I would have to buy another keyboard (I have a fairly new [3 mos.] PS2 MS natural keyboard). Also, it seems simpler to me to just push a KVM button and push the souce button on the monitor.

And thatnks for the confirmation on the included cables!

Thanks,
Meph
