Dell 2007FP info here.... not "w"

Amen.

Although the refresh rates are nice, the 16ms response time is underwhelming.

Legions of people here have eagerly awaited the 2007FP / 2007FPW... this sure looks like a dud performance wise.

Dell blows this one, big time! With the onset of HDTV age is upon us, who'd in the frame of mind buying a 4:3 ratio lcd monitor these days? Dell stands for, dump, dumper, dumpest!

I'm wondering if this is Dell's version of the LG L2000C. Hard to say what the 16ms means since we've seen panels promoting 2ms that aren't.

I read someone say these were Samsung Panels not LG panels...

Dell uses both Samsung and LG. The 2001fp is LG.

20" widescreen specs are also available.

I wonder what panel this monitor actually uses. If it's the 16 ms bwb / 8 ms gtg new S-IPS panel, it's good. Otherwise, not an improvement over the 2005FPW.

Due to higher contrast and slightly wider viewing angle than 2005FPW, it looks to me like the widescreen 2007WFP uses the new LG S-IPS panel like the NEC 20WMGX2. I wouldn't worry about the '16 ms' rating. LG is the most truthful in their specifications.

Same goes for the 2007FP. Looks like it also uses a new S-IPS panel (LM201U05) due to higher contrast and viewing angle.

NEC 20W(M)GX2 = 12 ms bwb, 6 ms g2g. If this one is 16 ms bwb, it's probably not exactly the same panel.

Maybe it's LM201WE2 (NEC) vs. LM201W01 (Dell).

Hopefully these monitors will be cheaper than their older siblings, thats the only improvement I can really see being possible at the moment. By using the same specs as the older ones and improving manufacturing efficiency to improve yields and yada yada yada, they should be able to sell these to us cheaper, ***HOPEFULLY***.

Don't know. From what's on flatpanels.dk, the NEC also uses LM201W01. I also see 16 ms ratings for LM201WE2 (first pdf result on Google search) but it could be an old document.

They don't have the same specs though. If you mean the old ones will get cheaper, yeah, probably, but I doubt the new ones will be cheaper than the old ones at this point.

Well, TBH, I trust neither NEC Poland (which informed me about the panel) nor flatpanels.dk (I've already seen a couple of inconsistencies in their panel database). I think I'll just clarify the matter (panels in 2090UXi and 20W[M]GX2) with NEC "global".

They don't have the same specs though. If you mean the old ones will get cheaper, yeah, probably, but I doubt the new ones will be cheaper than the old ones at this point.

They look like they have the same specs, can't really see what "improvements" there are... I'm looking at it like going from a 6800GT to a 6800GS... (You know, purchasing wise, like price...)
