I also posted in that thread, and yes there is a banding issue.

 
OK, I just checked my 2007WFP and using CheckeMON it does have problems.

So what do I do? Should I send mine back? What do I replace it with? I already gave my kid my 2005FPW and he's not going to be a happy camper.
 
I think there is enough evidence now that all the 2007fp and fpw monitors suffer banding. I don't think I have heard of one person who checked for banding on DVI and didn't find it. And this is not a common LCD trait these days I have heard reports of people comparing the the 2001fp or 2005fpw and they were fine.

Dell screwed up big time here.
