Dell 2005FPW for $464 shipped ... good deal?

I am trying to get a 2005FPW for around $400 shipped. Current cost at Dell is $464. Ebay is about the same (with there shipping costs of $60-$70). I have tried to grab one in the FS/FT forum, but same thing $460+.

So my question is, what are the odds of Dell dropping the price back into the sub-$400 range again. I am new to this forum and just don't have a feel for how things like this flow. I'm really close on pulling the trigger and just getting it from Dell, but don't want to miss a $385 deal next week.

Any help?

If you check some other threads it was as low as 359. A lot of people got it for 381 and 389 a few weeks ago. Dell usually has a good deal at the end of each quarter and the last quarter ending in July. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. I followed these threads and sat for about 3 weeks and picked up my 2nd 2005 for 381.

I forgot to mention, that price was with free shipping and I recieved mine in less than 5 days.

Okay, thanks for the info. I just don't think that it will be getting down $400 as Dell seems to think they were TOO aggressive with thier pricing last quarter.

You will find the same deals cycle every 1-2 months. It took me 2 months to finally pounce on a laptop deal for the XPS Gen 2 and I'm glad I waited.

The last great price I saw for this monitor was on 7/27:

I would expect another low price on this monitor in the next 2-4 weeks. And I would garuntee that the price will drop below $400 within the next 1 1/2 months but I have nothing to validate that garuntee 😀

Edit: btw does anyone know which states don't have to pay taxes for Dell items?
 
not anymore, I mean I could be wrong, but based on their quaterly report I would say they will be cutting back on the coupons.... and I think all states must pay taxes with them
 
I see the current price as 524. Now, with the current coupon, then it comes down to 464. If it were 464 then the coupon, I would probably break down and get it.

Yeah, that is what I meant. Sorry for the confusion.
 
i wouldn't buy this monitor at the moment. it seems to have 'scan lines' on the left side of the monitor when using a dvi connection. many A02 users have experienced this problem.

Not a big deal in my opinion. I just got my monitor today and the picture is fantastic.

On the scan line thing, someone said to goto www.xfire.com and look for them on the left side of the screen. For some reason only on this certain shade of blue can I see them and I have to be like 2 inches from the screen to see them. Not a problem at all in my opinion. I dont see the scan lines against any other color or shade of blue and only seeing them like 2 inches away against a certain color is not a problem since I dont sit that close.
 
im so mad i missed out on the 2005fpw deal that ended august 1st.... i had the money aug 2nd. good deal, i might buy one to pair with my new Viewsonic vx924 which is a great sub for the 2005.. even if the 2005fpw has wide screen.
