Dell 2005FPW for $389 extended to 7/30.

Yeah that is incredibly insulting. How stupid does Dell think we are? I was on the phone with an Indian rep last year. He goes in his Indian voice, "Hello my name is George blah blah blah." I replied, "Your name isn't George!" He very politely replied, "yes sir my name is George." I told him to quit lying to me. Your name is not George. He then reluctantly admitted his name was not George and told me his real name.

Last week I spent over 3 HOURS with some Indians with Delta trying to redeem frequent flyer points for a flight. Ok these people are not only from India, but they must be the dumbest Indians on the planet. Really really stupid. One of then kept mixing up my destinations and departure city. He did this 4 times in 2 minutes, and even aded in a city I never mentioned.

I finally got an AMerican agent on the phone and got my flights booked in under 5 minutes. I would not be surprised if 3 hours of Indian labor is cheaper than 5 minutes of American labor..

Anybody receive their shipping confirmation on their 2005FPW yet? Ordered mine on the 28th and the ship date sais August 9th. Wondering if they've been shipping sooner than that. I don't wanna wait!🙁

I ordered it on 27th and got it yesterday 8/1/2005. Mine has no dead pixel so far and very very slight backlight on the top. I think it is a keeper since most LCD has a bit of backlighting.

Did Dell notify you before delivery or did it just show up at your door? I also ordered mine on the 28th with a delivey date of Aug 12th-16th

 
I got an email saying this is the tracking no. Now, I think I need to RMA it. Look at another thread I have "Wavy lines..." under Video Forum.
 
Ordered mine early afternoon on the 26th with their free shipping, on the confirmation email it had an estimated shipping date of Aug 1st. It actually shipped on 27th early morning and I got it on the 29th. No dead/stuck pixels, very slight backlight issue, but other than that it's beautiful screen.
I'm definitely keeping mine.
 
Ordered mine along with everyone else it seems...only problem? Received a 2001FP instead.

After using the 2001 for a bit though...I am keeping it and waiting for the next deal on these. The 2001 is such a nice monitor.

In one of the recent Dell monitor threads there was a link to a program to test the monitor for dead pixels, etc. Does anyone have that link-I forgot to grab it before.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I ordered the 2005FPW on the 28th at 1:30pm EST and this whole time it's still in Production phase with delivery date of Aug 12-16. Fvcking lame if you ask me. I've been waiting everyday this week for it and delivery today would've been hours ago. Fvck. I better get that thing tomorrow and if there's bad backlighting I'll kill 'em.

Yeah, Im getting irritated about this also. I ordered mine at 11:30 am eastern on the 28th and it's in the exact same "production" stage as yours. same expected delivery date also.

Yeah mine is in the production step too. Supposed to just be boxing it up and shipping it so you wouldn't think it would take them that long. I'm betting they sold more lcd's then they had on hand and are waiting for some more to arrive from the factory.
 
So no one who has ordered theirs on the 28th has gotten them yet? I'm guessing it blew up around there and they ran out, hence they now display a 1 to 2 week shipping time for the 2005FPW. I was counting on getting it this week, but since everyone else is still waiting I'm sure it'll take another week. 🙁 :|
 
i think that everyone who ordered on the 28th or later is having to wait until at least Aug. 9th. im in the same boat.

Nope, I ordered on the 28th when it was the $359 deal and mines supposed to ship on the 9th. So, you're probably going to have to wait. Wait until you see your credit card charged, then you know it has or is about to ship. Mine still hasn't been charged, and they won't until it's shipped.
