i ended up getting a drskip thing. Need to fix some cd's anyway say it was 20 bucks.. figured 10 bucks more and for something i actually need.. woot.

jumped on the deal, 450ish shipped for the display + the cd disc thing. woot!

I grabbed 2 of the 2005FPW's, and threw in an ink cartridge on the one order, Far Cry on the other... Snagged the 2% discount from getting a Dell Preferred account. Paid no tax cause I'm in NY...

Grand total: Just under $817.00

That's about $407.50 Each!!!!!

Thanks to all you dedicated people who hunt down these deals! Love you all!

Is it really worth $400-$500 more for 4 more inches and HDTV support?

It's not just 4 more inches, with the 2405 you're also gaining more real estate resolution-wise.

True, but i decided it wasnt worth $500 for the extra space....

I hear you on that one. If space was an issue it makes more sense to get 2 of the 19" or even the 17's.

My question is about the quality of the monitor. Looking at the specs of both the 2005 and 1905FP, they seem to be comparable to my current Samsung. I'm looking for a second monitor, but something at least as good as what I have. NOT using it for gaming.

So how do they LOOK ???

the 2005fpw uses the same panel as the 20" apple cinema display (lg.philips). the 1905fp used to use a samsung panel, however, they have not switched over to a different panel and i am unsure what brand it is.

how does the dell exchange policy work? does dell send a 2nd lcd and i return the old lcd in the new box? isn't that a stupid decision by dell since someone can just keep both lcds? i guess dell still has your credit card number, address, etc.

I got the 2% by selecting a credit card for purchase. They then offer you 2% on a DPA. Funny way of doing it, but it works.

so you received 4%? mine didn't give me 2% when selecting credit card. it only works through DPA.

where did you get the DPA 2% code?

It was added automatically to my first DPA order. It's a first purchase thing I think... I only got it on the first monitor.

strange, I signed up for the DPA when I ordered this and I didnt get a 2% discount. oh well, it was only like $9 anyways.

No, there was no 2% if I selected DPA as a payment option in the shopping cart. However, if you select credit card as an option, they give you an option to change your mind and switch to DPA and they'll give you 2% to boot. So in other words, if you want 2% with the DPA, DO NOT choose DPA as a payment. Choose credit card instead. Then when you get to the credit card payment screen, use the option to 'change your mind' and they'll give you 2%.

I can verify that the 2% works if you go through the CC then say you reconsider steps. Kind of funny that you have to do it that way but saved me another $9 or so.

To Illinois it was $433 with Far Cry.

$408.(and some pocket change) - final price

-35% -$90 off -2%DPA -$14(free shipping) = One Really Happy Guy!

P.S.-thanx for the hedzup!

i really can't get the 90 off of 750 to work, when i add the monitor to my cart it shows up as like $530 not $749 can someone PLEASE post step by step instructions?

it's kind of late anyways. the coupon expired this morning. the coupon only worked if your total was $750 (without discounts) or greater. however, the monitor is only $749, one dollar short. so you had to buy a "filler" item to make the total equal to $750 or greater.

%35 coupon still works though.
