Dell 2005FPW 20in widescreen Digital LCD Flat Panel 600:1 contrast ratio, 12ms response, DVI, Svideo, Composite Video $799 - 30% = $559.30, $14 shipping

Small business. You could probably call this in for free shipping.

Anyone have this? Was wondering if you prefer this widescreen over the regular screen...I am still on the fence.

Also, just note that TAX is charged for items from the SB site.

Ive got 2 2001FPs and just ordered this 2005FPW for my third head. It will be primary. I got the 25% off plus $40 off $400 deal.. $602 shipped with tax of course. Im sure this will be just as nice as my 2 FPs

wide screen has been reported to have several problems... u should search for the huge thread on it here and in FW.. Should be very resourceful as to why the widescreen is a no go... Definitely stick to the 2001FP as you also get a larger total screen area....

there is also a lot of opinion on how the 2005fpw has a much more quality display over the 2001, so if image quality is more important than screen area you should consider that.

I just bought this monitor the other day and absolutely LOVE it.

My system is used for web development and alot of gaming (mostly first person shooters). I get no ghosting and the widescreen is very nice. True that it takes some minor "tweaking" to get your games to run widescreen but it is worth it.

I would buy another one if I had the money.

I just got my 2005FPW widescreen. Been using it about a week, and no problems. It's awesome.

Ack, too bad I missed the home/office one. No tax for me there, in small business my grand total came out to $622.76 :\

what reported problems are we talking about here ?

My 1st LCd had faulty USB port and dead pixels so I got it replaced.
New replacement has 0 dead pixels and USB ports all work.

It's running like a champ and I'm happy with it.

Read all about it Here!

well, to shorten it up, some people are having backlight leakage problems around the corners. Noticeable especially with DVDs. This is a risk with any LCD. Dell is exchanging them. I spent 30 minutes reading the threads and saw pics of 2005FPWs with NO problems, so I would just look at it when you get it and if you do have a problem call up India and act dumb "oh my god, my monitor has white corners"

Well, I spent a LOT more than 30 minutes reading it and was looking for individual posters. I'm sure they could've been spoofing new names if they REALLY wanted to, but there were probably at least 50 people with hideous leakage on the edges and 1 totally leak free, and a few that were content with minimal leakage. It has been identified as a manufacturing problem due to the fact that not all the monitors leak, and yes, dell will exchange them... however you will not get a "new" monitor when they exchange it (Dell only swaps out damaged new monitors with refurbished ones), and the chances of your getting a "refurbished" monitor with leakage are pretty good since they've only been out a couple months now and for the most part have been returned solely for leakage. Apparently they are not doing anything to the monitors which are being sent back for leakage before they send them straight to another customer as the people posting have gone through 3-4 monitors now since november. The monitors which seem to have the worst leakage from Dell are the 2005FPW's followed by the 2001FP, however the reported leakage on the 2001FP was fairly minimal in most all cases, so I'd reccomend that one if you MUST go with a dell branded Phillips LCD panel (hint, hint). Personally I use a Samsung 710T and have absolutely ZERO complaints. Well... ok, the stand could be better.

You should really think twice about any transaction with Dell that might involve a Customer Service interaction. They are notoriously bad and slowwwwww. Especially with Credit Card reversals on returns. Not to mention countless hours and huge frustration on the phone.

My first 2005FPW had horrible back light leakage...all 4 corners...

they sent me a replacement within 2 days....lower left corner still has a small amount of leakage, but it really doesn't bother me at all....keeping it (they still haven't asked for the first one back!?)

I play a ton of games, FPS and WoW (addicted like it was Kenny's Roaster)

Display is beautiful

Home office still charges tax. ;[ I even called up dell to see if I can get ouf of it. I can't. Sometimes, I wonder, if Dell actually reports it to the state in which you bought it in. If not, they're making some serious money from charging tax.

just ordered another 2001FP for my dad (dual setup) and a 2005fpw for myself from the home office dept for 599 each on Tuesday, shipped thursday. Can't wait
