Lemme' go unpack it. I'll post my impressions when it's up and running.

I love both of mine. I hope you have a DVI connection to your video card to fully enjoy it!

It's an awesome screen! First LCD outside a ghosty old CRT so take my impressions for what its worth. I am not a 1600x1200 person normally, my vision is just not quite there and it's not bad enough to warrant glasses. The text is just bam! right there. No problems reading it with the DVI connection and the brightness turned down just a tad. My enjoyment is tempered by 1 dead white pixel in the middle of the screen.

I'll leave it running and see how much it bugs me.

If you have XP you can also try out Cleartype. Some people like it, others don't. I like it.

I have the baby brother, 1901. As soon as I pay off some debt I'll be looking to upgrade to the 2001 :)

The Dell is much cheaper than the Samsung 213t, and not quite as good. Can't fault it for being a value though, but I'd rather buy the 213t.

I remember a little while ago, the Dell LCDs were rebadged versions of the Samsungs. I think when they started releasing the 1901, they went with Philips screens or LG screens right? When I first got my 1901 I thought it was huge, after a few months now, it is starting to look small heh. I guess I'll wait another year or so when I get back from China to upgrade. Wonder how large and cheap the screens will be then =T.

Yep.... I bought the 213T :) The Dell is cheaper and has a faster pixel refresh (25 ms for the 213T) But the Samsung is still great in gaming and a bit bigger :p

Can't complain a bit about the screen. The one off pixel is not even noticable for me. Nice that the center speaker for my logitech 640z nests right into the base of the screen. With my old CRT I was always trying to deal with where to put it. One observation is that the screen really messes with the eyes when the background is set to dayglow green.
