Dell 2001fp, 2005fpw $507, Dell 1905fp $368, and more...pretty hot!

And will easily retail for about $1000. So, just buy two 2005FPW's and you'll be better off.

Here was my breakdown:

Sub-total $506.75
Shipping $14.00

Estimate Shipping and Tax
Shipping Discount -$14.00
Tax $0.00
Total Price $506.75

Since I already have one, my total for two would be $1013.50. Think of that compared to only one 2405FPW, which after some research, might actually be over $1200 now. You're desktop real estate may be the only reason I see somone wanting the 2405FPW, otherwise its strictly for envy. ;-)

The two 2005FPW would be a lot more pixels and a less costly than one 2405FPW.

Just throwing ideas out there.

oktober75, what's the revision of your 2005? Any backlight issue? I have to wait till friday to receive mine. 🙁

I stayed home, and got my 2001FP delivered. It looks great!

Hard to belive, $507 delivered minus the big fat $10 ebates check!

Is there an easy way to check for dead or stuck pixels?

Thanks,
MN

I got my 2001FP yesterday, one stuck pixel (red). It is in the top middle, near the address bar. It sucks, but not that big of a deal. It is certainly better than 2 or 3.

Nice monitor, It looks great, and I'm on an analog output which supposedly looks horrible. Since that makes a good excuse to get a new card with a DVI output, it'll give me a good reason to justify a 6800GT purchase. Has anyone gone from analog to DVI on a monitor like the 2001FP or 2005FPW? Any noticeable differences?

Does anyone see a problem with the 1680x1050 resolution, or even 1600x1200 resolution of the 2001FP models as far as games go? I mean, i'm sure 6 months from now I won't be able to run the latest games at that high of a resolution(without upgrading again of course), so for those that have the 200x models, how bad does it look below native res? I'm just asking because I can't decide between the 2005FPW or the 1905FP. By the way, does the deal end today(2/23)???

how much lower are these going to get? March1st they bring out the 24" ... Do you think this is as low as they're willing to go?

Just checked:

Revision A01

With a manufacturing date of February 2005. This thing was probably made a week ago. 🙂

If they go any lower, I am seriously going to kick myself in the arse repeatedly.

The new LCDs are nice. My 2005fp was worth every cent imo. Everytime I go to work it's like blah that 21" crt sucks.

I just got mine about an hour ago and I can't believe how nice it is. Soon as I got it up and running I played some CS:S and a few minutes of HL2 and I can not get over how awesome the wide screen is for those two games. I hear not all games support it, but I only have a few games I like, so as long as these two, Farcry, and Raven Shield support it I will be fine.

I can't get over how clear the text is!!!

Mine arrived with no dead pixels, and is a great addition to my computer. I switched from dual 19" NEC 991 CRTs, so I had high standards going in and honestly didn't want to change, but space restrictions made me and I am 110% blown away with the 2005. Now I can't wait to get a second!! That gives me a reason to upgrade my video card to one with dual DVI outputs.

Stop talking like that! The other day I was at CompUSA looking at dual Apple 20" Cinema Displays, drool. After I saw that I knew I had to get a 20" widescreen.

Which dual DVI cards are the best bang for your buck?

So, since the 2005fpw is widescreen, I know its not as tall as traditional 20" lcds. How tall is the screen compared to, say, a 19" crt?

the actual dimensions of the screen are somethig like 10.?" tall by 17.? inches wide. About as tall as a 17" LCD (19"crt) and very wide 😉

Quit asking questions, just get it if its in your budget. It is great!!!! As stated above, I moved from very nice dual 19" CRTs and I can't get over how nice this monitor is. It is as tall as my 19" CRT was and about 2/3s as wide as the two of them, so it's a little less real estate, but it won't be long until I have two of these!!!
