What astounds me about this is I got in on this for my parents two years ago or more when it was $1100 shipped - a screaming deal at the time. But this much later, $800 is still a good deal! Where's my $400 21" 14ms LCD? Whaaaaaaaa

;)

The 2001FP was availeable 2 years ago?

I had been in the market for a 1600x gaming LCD for a long time, but never saw this back then...

I've been contemplating getting one of these for a while.... but when the native res is 1600x1200, will it just not run well @ 1280x1024? is it limited to 1600? 1600 is fine for everything but halo, in which case i dont think anyone can run halo super smooth at that res

you can run this monitor just fine at lower resolutions. it's no problem for games. things can sometimes appear a little blurry of "off" when you run it in a non-native resolution but for things like games it looks great. i love mine. a lot. best $750 i spent so far this year...

The native res as 16X12 isnt bad at all. You will have no visual problems. Why get a larger monitor to force a non standard res of 12X10?

1600x1200 on a 20" viewable screen is perfectly readable. i agree that there is no reason to run this monitor at a lower resolution for day to day unless you have poor eyesight. but for games... unless you have a fast cpu and a top of the line graphics card, it's tough to drive a 1600x1200 screen at decent speeds.

Don't forget Dell SB does have sales tax. Still tempting to grab it. Don't know if I should, or wait for Home to have it on sale again. Decisions, decisions :)
