Do you have to be a business to get this price? I added it to my cart and logged into my Dell account. I bought form the home store in the past and it is asking for the business name.

Just use your name as the business name. It really matters when there is a rebate involved.

this is a 16ms panel!

are all big LCD's coming down in price or is just De11 teasing us with their great deals now and then?

1.) I haven't found anywhere on the website's spec sheet that this is a 16ms panel. Where are you getting this info?.....

2.) The LCD has a 400:1 contrast ratio.......There appears to be other interesting alternatives.......I've seen today at Costco 2 19" Princeton LCDs at the $569 (w/ speakers) and $579 (w/out speakers) with 700:1 contrast ratios. The image is GORGEOUS, in addition, you can easily return the LCD with any dead pixel issues. Plus, Princeton has a great rep. for making top-line amazing monitors.

Can any experts shed light on these Princeton LCDs vs this Dell 2001?....

The new Dell UltraSharp 2001FP is a 20-inch LCD display and Dell's first flat panel monitor to feature 16 millisecond response times, which allow for distortion-free images during 3-D gaming DVD playback.

I wasn't able to use my account. I originally registered/purchased from the home store. It wouldn't accept my account number in the SB store. I used AMEX instead.

I just called regular small biz customer service and told them that the price had dropped. I had not actually asked for the adjustment before the cs agent said he would do it. I would call back and try with a different agent.
Had your monitor already arrived, or did you just order it recently?

I had allready recieved the replacement for the first one when I called.

Has anyone gotten one of these with ZERO backlight leakage. While mine didnt seem to at first it seems to have actually developed more since getting it or I just didnt want to see it. One side of my screen is definitely lighter than the other on all web pages.

BTW the person who asked about Ti4600 and this panel, it works great. Im using an MSI Ti4600 x8 (otherwise known as TI4800) and its much better for my panel than Parhelia was because you can tone down the harsh brightness of the panel with software.

The issue with the Ti4600/4800 is 3D gaming performance: if you want to game at 1600x1200 the Ti4800 is weak (fps is too low for most games with all the eye candy turned on at that resolution). I know I have one. You can work with it though, see my earlier posts in this thread.
I just splurged on a 9800XT and it's much better (grin).

Those that had the back light issue, what did you guys do about it?
I got a stuck pixel and the light leakage problem.

Got mine today. Absolutely amazing. I have 3 dead subpixels (1 stuck red, 2 blue) which are completely unnoticeable even when I look for them. I can only spot them when looking very closely on a solid black background. No leakage. Color is great. I'm loving it.

hey i sneezed on my screen,
and i wiped it with a tissue (i sneezed while i was sipping milk damn it)
and it went all over the monitor.

anyone know how to clean this thing?

now i have wipey marks on the lcd.

how do i clean the lcd properly?
thanks
pete

Here is what it says.

Cleaning your panel

Please make sure that whatever you use to clean your panel is designed for LCD's!
I cannot think of anything worse than taking your new £300+ purchase and giving it the once over with some monitor cleaner and then finding the coating removed and the whole panel ruined.
Most PC vendors now sell something "designed for LCD cleaning" and I'm sure that they all do the job very well.
However I initially found that a normal lint free cloth does the job extremely well, fell free to dampen the cloth if it is smeared finger prints you are trying to remove.
My latest purchase has been a camera lens cleaner. These cloths are available from either a local photography store or from PC vendors and are sold as camera/PDA cloths.
These soft cloths are perfect for cleaning LCD's, they can also be damped for those pesky finger prints.

I hope this helps,
Granamere

Ordered mine last night - this thing will tower over my little 15" LCD

BTW, im looking to sell my Gateway 15.7" LCD, for anyone interested! 😀
