I was looking thru the Dell web pages and noticed you can get this monitor for 599, thru small businesss end, but thru home its 679. Is it the same monitor with all the same features>?

So, if thats the market, say screw everyone else, you pay more, because lcds arent for you--makes no sense to me

does not compute

they have different discounts at different times on both market, the problem with small business is that you pay tax in most states..

How is an 80 dollar discount "screwing" ? Hell, that could be anything. Shipping vendors, packaging, processing charges, ext..

If 80 bucks isnt screwing, let me not screw ya outa bucks and ill call it shipping-- comon 80 bucks more to ship, listen to that doesnt make sense. No matter who ya sell it to, does it not all have to go thru the same prcoess>?

Anyway, I guess this is getting way off the direction I intended. I have the opportunity to purchase this either thru home or a friend with a small business, wanted to make sure that there was not any differences in the product itself.

There is no difference. Both Home and SmallBiz have the same retail price ($799). They both run sales pretty frequently so at any given time one of them usually has it for a little to a lot below retail. Its the exact same monitor though.

You can order it yourself from Dell SB if you want. I did last year, and I do not own a business, just used my credit card. You will have to pay tax though, so the price difference may be even smaller after tax and S&H when compared to the Dell Home price...

i dunno, I called Dell, they said ya needed a federal tax ID, how did you get around this?

Really?! I never bothered calling Dell to place the order. I just saw the deal posted on Firingsquad one day and I ordered it with my credit card. I don't remember it asking for any Tax-ID. I believe my total was around $670 or so... Have you tried placing it directly through the site?

Actually, I just went to the Dell site and added the monitor to my cart:

The total was $671.50 including shipping to Illinois and tax. It didn't ask me for a Tax-ID and I was just
one step away from submitting the order... Give it a try if you want to go ahead with the purchase.

Not sure... I'm assuming they use your city and zip to calculate your tax. That's actually done before
you checkout though. Try it and see if it gives you zero tax...
