intellasale.com has 9 of these left in stock. they will do 1600x1200@75 or 1280x1024@85hz.

i bought this same monitor from them about a month ago, and so far its a very nice monitor. the color is much nicer than my old hitachi superscan pro; text and picture is prettier too. however, its not as bright as my brother's sony 400ps, but still brighter than other shadow mask tube.

a low point of this monitor would be its lack of on screen control, therefore, making adjustment to the monitor is really hard.

for 275 bucks and 6 months intellasale.com warranty, anyone in the market for a new monitor should give this one a consideration dell/sony.

That means that they have been used before and people have returned them. Then the company checks them out, fixes them if there are any problems and then sells them as " refurbished " mointors. I'd personally stay away from anything refurbished, especially a monitor. Plus, that resolution is horrible for a 20" monitor. most 19" monitors can do that.

It doesn't say anything about being trinitron on the website.. but its a nice deal for a 20" monitor and trinitron lines is suck.

I went to dell's website and it talks about how that model has two horizontal lines that are there for the horizontal refresh and how they are supposed to be there.
So... looks like its a trinitron... oh well it should help my resell value.

i do believe that these monitors are used; and they were probably returned from people who have leased them. this dell 2060t is the same as the sony 20"(dont remember which model) sold for 1,200 a couple of yrs ago i believe.

here is the full spec:

one of my co-workers wife used to work for sony -- sony is an OEM for many companies that want to rebrand monitors, dell being one...

I have had one of these 20inchers for a year now. Me likes. It is defianatly not suck. Yes, the dot pitch sucks, but the colors are much more resiliant. I am comparing these aspects with my dads 19 inch Compaque, and ,my roomates 21 inch NEC.
Yes, it is a Trinitron, and yes, you will see the horizontal lines on white backgrounds.
I think that is a sweet deal...however, one thing we have not mentioned is weight. Most likely, these monitors are a couple fo years old. Mine weighs about 65lb.'s. If you are going to be moving that beast a lot...I would roll on a 19incher. Personally, I am 6'4 230 pounds...and me hates lifting this thing.
Those are thr pro's and con's IMO.

Well I have a Dell D1626hs, and the contrast is kinda dull (especially while playing games). The 17"s are alot crisper. I still have the Dell warranty on it and wish I could exchange it through them, but I guess I'll wait till it breaks... mine is actually a 21" with 20" viewable,
it also has the RGB inputs. if this one for $275 is a 21" with the RGBs then it originally costs about $1500 otherwise, who knows.
still that matted dull finish and the lines are a negative for a gaming machine (not that the size isn't cool for the price).

Trinitron is the only way!!!

I'm so spoiled on having square pixels & straight lines (imho, the best features of the trini), that I had to re-sell the good shadow mask monitor I bought b/c the hexagonal dot grid was driving me nuts at high resolutions. Considering that a brand-new 19" trinitron will cost just under $600, getting a refurb 20" with 6-month warranty for $275 is a steal.

My friend bought two refurb monitors before and one of them died out in about 4 months or so... I'm sorta wary on purchasing this monitor even though it's a kickass deal.

I noticed there are BNC type connectors on the 20TX. Is it really worth it to purchase a BNC monitor cable? Just how much more quality can one expect?

Well, there's refurbished, and then there's REFURBISHED. Some places
use the word "refurbished" to mean "it was used for a year or two,
got returned to the leasing company, they wholesaled it to us,
we made sure it powered on and now you can buy it for probably
more than it's worth, even though the price SEEMS cheap".

Other places, mostly monitor manufacturers and OEM marketers,
take refurbished to mean "a monitor that came back under warranty
and has (presumably) been opened and readjusted/fixed to meet
spec." These monitors are typically as-new (with the possible
exception of a few marks on the case). If they're been properly
serviced to meet spec, then you are essentially getting a new monitor.
These ARE a good deal.

Unlike many other components, monitors have a finite lifetime that
is (usually) shorter than the technologically useful lifetime,
and the longer they're used, the shorter the remaining lifetime.
For that reason, I'd never buy a used monitor pig-in-a-poke style,
which is what the first class of resellers is offering. Sure, you
might get lucky. But the risk ain't worth it. IMHO.

Anyone receive their monitor yet? I've ordered a unit and it hasn't come yet. Received my Credit Card statement today and it says it has been properly charged. I have called them but no one seems to pick up. E-mailed them and have only gotten a reply once. E-mails that I have sent after that haven't been answered. Phone calls are still not being answered... Just keep talking to a machine. Hope I didn't get burned.

What should I do?

Goto http://www.comprenew.com
They have tons of used monitors.

I got a 14" NEC for $20, 17" NEC for $50, & a 21" Interegraph (.25dpi) for $270. I picked them up, so I didn't have to pay for packaging & shipping, but I don't think thier charges are too bad. I am VERY pleased with my purchase. The Intergraph monitor is EXCELLENT!!! I have a .25dpi CyberVision (division of Panasonic?) that I have been using for 2-3 years & this is much better. (Intergraph makes high-end workstations BTW). Their stock is ALWAYS changing, but they typically have intergraph, mitsibishi, hitachi, & NEC monitors in the 21" catagory.

yeah that's what making me very fishy... Anyone ever order from these guys? I'm trying very hard to contact them but I STILL can't get an answer. I want to cancel my order but they have already charged my credit card. Has anyone had any experience dealing with this type of problem? What exactly does one do? So far I think the BBB is one resource to go to but are there any others?

sorry to hear this

but this is very weird because according to the above link to intellasale, all the 20" monitors were sold out after one day that this deal was posted here, yet my co-worker was able to order one about 2 weeks ago, which is also about 2-3 weeks after all the monitor were sold out. he got his 2 days of his after order(same as i), and btw hes extremely happy with it.

i'm sorry to hear this because i posted the deal. i dont think your are getting rip off, but there is probably a warehouse/inventory mistake. wait until monday and give them a call because they might close for the weekend. if that doesnt work, you can alsways call your bank and dispute the charge.

thai...I think they are referring to "comprenew," not "intellisale"

Bun & Braxus: As I said, I bought 3 monitors from them & I am very pleased. Since they deal in used parts, your experiences may vary of course.

I just tried their site & the links worked fine. The whole site is a "real-time" database which lists exactly what items are in stock & for sale. They are presumably a fairly small operation, so they may not be open on the weekend to answer your questions. They have warehouses in Grand Rapids, MI & Columbus, OH. I live about 2 hours away from GR, but my parents live right by there, so I had my mom personally pick up the monitors for me at the warehouse. She said it is basically a big warehouse with all kinds of bins & boxes of used computer parts.

Braxus, if you really want to cancel, just wait until monday. If you can't reach them, you can always deny the package when it arrives & have your CC company cancel the charges if they don't reimburse you.
