Add any cheap item (TDK 10Pk CDRW for $4.74) to bring the price above $450 before discounts, and use a $40 off $450 coupon (get it at your favorite coupon site), and add free shipping and no tax, and the total price is only $370. i think the hitachi's and planars are pretty much the same monitor, except the planar one has speakers ugh

I believe the monitor response is 25ms. No DVI though, but that's not too big a deal.

This is a great, basic LCD. My mom ordered one for my dad for christmas. The thin bezel is sweet, very bright, and nice colors. Can't beat that price either!

I got mine for $470 in early November and had it price adjusted down to $395 when the price dropped a few weeks later. $345 is definitelyl cheap!! I do game and this monitor is awesome on 3d games. The 25ms is much better than the 40+ms NEC LCD I was using before. The improvement in using DVI is a bit noticeable as I've played the same games on my friend's Sony 15" LCD with DVI, but it's only necessary for the very extremely picky!

The analog interface is taking a bad rap due to poorly designed video cards IMHO. In my studies it is virtually impossible to tell the difference between a properly designed analog interface and DVI.

I?m not arguing with those who notice a big difference however what they don?t realize is not all-analog video interfaces are the same. Many IMHO poorly designed video cards use RF filters on the analog video lines to reduce RF emissions. There are many ways to reduce RF emissions without these RF circuits hanging on the video lines. These circuits add capacitance to the video signals increasing the rise and fall time of the signal. These slower rise and fall times create soft edges especially on text or sharp black to white and white to black transitions. Thus the DVI connection will look better.

It is not the fact that you are using the analog interface it is the fact that the design of the analog interface that you have may be a poor one compared to others with much better designs. To make general statements that DVI is better and anyone who says others wise doesn?t know $%^&, is very short sided. And I do know my $%^&.

oh... to clarify things about DPA even more, DPA is a Dell Preferred account... its basically like an online credit line that you get from dell that can only be used for Dell Home and S&P purchases... http://www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/topics/segtopic_consumer_dpa_payment_options.htm has more information on it.
The $50 coupon is only available on catalogs that were mailed to people who subscribed to dell home mailing catalog but some people may be generous enough to give a code away on some other sites like FW, or if necessary you can even buy one if someone is selling theirs that they don't need.

I need another dollar added to my cart and I can't find a screw by using the search. Is there a part no or something else cheap for a dollar?

Where is the coupon in the catalog? I got the Feb 2003 Dell home catalog and i don't see the coupon.
