Uhhh, no.
"Another farmer called tariffs the "ice cream on the cake of a perfect storm." They continued, “In the short term, they have no choice but to mail us a check"
Oh, I'm pretty sure they have other choices on the table, ones that will favor the already wealthy. Shame about that steady diet of propaganda and growing up surrounded by the poorly educated.

Not sure if this belongs here

But this bit suggests maybe it does

Her husband, Jim Brown, a US citizen and military veteran, told reporters his wife was not a criminal and that he “100%” regretted voting for Donald Trump as president.

Brown, who served in the navy and marines for decades, said he had supported Trump’s promise to deport “criminal illegal immigrants” but that federal authorities were targeting other people to reach quotas.

“You look at the news, and they’re not telling the truth about what’s actually happening to a lot of legal immigrants. What’s bad is that Trump is so demeaning to people, and he’s so condescending and so retaliatory that people are afraid to say anything.”

With regard to 'fear of saying anything' and seeing that as an issue, one might think a question as to why people experience such fear would be relevant? I mean, if we just stop there and accept it as a truism when in fact the phenomenon might have a motivated origin wouldn't you want to dig deeper and know what the cause might be? Maybe the same fear of saying anything also applies to questioning such things? What do you think of that line of reasoning? You have shown me signs in the past that have led to my regarding you as far more willing to think tangentially than most. Should we poo poo Western medicine because a doctor somewhere cut off the wrong leg?

Here's another FAFO.

"
...his brother was less than sympathetic. In fact, he actually seemed to support the reductions for children as long as they didn't affect his own kids.

Screenshot of a text message discussing Medicaid coverage loss for 300,000 kids in Iowa, mentioning a family member's misunderstanding about Hawk-i

But for those who don't know, Iowa's Medicaid and children’s health insurance program is largely known by its nickname: Healthy and Well-Kids in Iowa or...hawk-i. So, yes. This guy's brother did, in fact, unknowingly vote against his own children's access to healthcare.

Text message exchange about 300,000 Iowa kids potentially losing Medicaid coverage, with a misunderstanding about Hawk-i versus Medicaid

And someone mentioned that these red state assholes lost their collective minds when Biden forgave some student loans.

"Socialism money is for me, not thee"

it was all laid out for them....they voted for this shit
Unfortunately they probably disregarded any media or people who warned them of these entirely predictable consequences as "woke bullshit".

But there's an old quote, often misattributed to Mark Twain: "The man who won't read has no functional advantage over the man who can't read." This is a victory for the billionaire class and their well-funded culture war, it will let them scoop up assets on the cheap, and Tim Wood will still blame the Demonrats for letting it get this bad in the first place. You know, just like Greenman.
