Does anyone know how to delete Registry keys in the following tree:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root

I've got some devices there for programs that I've long since uninstalled, and am trying to clean it up.

Just Del any Keys that you don't need, but don't do it with out backing up your registry frist. YOu coud also try RegClean.exe from MS.

Don't know if it works for all such devices, but I went into my registry the other day to do the same thing and noticed that the keys I intended to delete (from some uninstalled software like an old defragger) were already gone. I presume I killed them when I went into Device Manager, enabled "Show hidden devices" in the View menu, and uninstalled them from there.

www.tweakfiles.com scroll down to the Registry section and download EasyCleaner and RegCleaner, both work well under W2K for cleaning up the Registry. Best part is that they are both free! :)
