i have to delete red hat 7.3 so i can install winows me version. (dont ask why long story) and i dont know how to clean the hard disk...i want the hard drive to be complety blank when i go to install windows.

my linux is messed up right now to..when i boot my computer it doesnt begin to load linux it gives a me a screen with a sky blueish background with clouds and tells me to select which linux kernal i would like to boot..even tho there is only one to select.

even
if i select that one....once it boots up it doesnt go into the normal mode...with the "graphics, it only stays in "text mode"

please help me-how do i delete linux?!

ps- linux n00b here so sorry if i screwed up with the bad discpirtion above. 😱

Can it actually delete the linux partitions? My experience is no, but that could've been the time that my partition table got hosed and I had to do a low level format too...

If you can't do it that way, you could use the boot cd for redhat and delete using fdisk for linux. Check in again and someone can (if I see it I can) help you through it.

But you will need the fdisk /mbr from the win boot disk in the end anyway.

i used the window 98 boot disk and installed windows 98, then upgraded right to win me 🙂 thanks for the help guys
