Deleting "NEW FILES"

You know when you right click on your desktop and go to New you can make new files...How do you remove some of those options? (Like lets say I didn't want Microsoft Word there)?

I believe as long as the application does not replace the shell entry when it starts up, you can just delete the entry in the registry. Mine is stored here -

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\ShellNew
