Your temps are fine. I overclock my p4 by 25-30% with the standard Intel copper heatsink, and it gets up to 60c under load, which is ok by me. These cpus are pretty durable. Most important is if the system remains stable, without random reboots or windows bluescreens. For higher overclocks, I would switch to pc3200 or higher memory for better performance. But first try your old memory with the memory ratios in the bios. Check your manual for location of the settings.

Jesus, easy man. If the forums were only about completely useful information where would be the entertainment value?

You need to buy a better video card. Badly. :p

That's constructive. Thanks for stating the blindingly obvious, moron.

It is constructive, "moron." You should be buying a better video card rather than risking a BBQed P4 from OCing. Not to mention that adding heat from something like a 9800/5900 series would likely hurt the max clock as well.

As far as the 3DMark03 score goes, there is only one other MX4000 listed on futuremark's Online Result Database that is higher than mine. Let me know where your VGA rates on your list.

Oh Noes, not the mighty MX4000! I must ph34r t3h l33t p0wAr!
I have paperweights with more pixel power than an MX4000. :p

I'm all for entertainment. But I'm also not going to let some loser disrespect me like that. That's all. This board has a ton of information, and it's got a lot of areas where you can have a lot of fun. But it also seems to have a lot of crap from people who have nothing better to do than step in and make ridiculous suggestions (my favorite: recommend a Radeon 9800 Pro to someone who says they've got a budget of $50 for a video card upgrade).
I mean, if you want to step in and correct someone's expectations and help them realize some more realistic goals, that's perfect, but to step in and laugh your ass off at at someone's benchmark is BS. Sorry, my tolerance for ignorance just isn't what it used to be.

In order to get "disrespected", no0b, you would have needed to have a little respect to start with. Considering you've got no sense of humour and a skin about as thin as the broken prophylactic that caused your birth, I don't forsee you gaining any to lose.

Now go die in a fire.

Love,

- M4H

LOL the best is when someone says "Hey should I get a P4 Northwood or Prescott?" and the response is "Athlon 64". LOL

Well I hope you feel better MFH. If the moderators of this site condone BS like that, then I'm out of here. I won't even flatter your antics with a response. You obviously have no interest in an intelligent exchange of information.
ZePHyRaNTHeS, you're understanding exactly what I'm saying. Thanks.

I tried "exchanging information" with you, but you're evidently happy with your head buried firmly where the sun don't shine. Enjoy the view of your lower intestine!:D

When the school semester begins, all the L33t S|<r1p7 k1dD13z have access to Teh IntArw3b 24/7 from either their parent's basement or the high school labs. BBQing of the no0bs naturally follows. :p
