DELETED PICTURES!!! HELP!!!

Ok so I was in a hurry and trying to transfer some pictures from prom off of my dads camera and I accidently deleted them instead of moving them, smooth, I know. So I know theres a program called GetDataBack that will restore deleted data and i used it last year without having to pay for it but I downloaded it this time and had to pay for it. Is there any free program out there than I can use to get these pictures back? My girlfriend will absolutely murder me if I can't get them back. Please help!!!
 
Ok, I found a way around purchasing the program and got all my pictures back. Now I have another problem. All the pictures work fine on my computer, but the minute I burn them to a CD and try and open them i get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtme Library error that says
Runtime Error!
Program C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero Photo Snap\Photo Snap Viewer.exe
abnormal program termination
I first tried just clicking on the folder and going to Copy Files to CD but for some reason it isn't reading the disc in my burner so I have to use Nero. The problem only happens when i try and open the pictures in nero though. If I Open with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer they open fine. Anyone have any Ideas at all? Maybe if I could just set PIcture and Fax Viewer as my Default Viewer I would have less problems, but i can't find how to do that.
 
Reinstall Nero?

To set picture and fax viewer as default, right-click on one of the images. Select Open With... and if it asks to use the web service or pick a program from the list, select pick a program from the list. In the next window, scroll down to find Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Click on it once, click the tick box at the bottom of the window that says "always use the selected application to open files of this type", then click OK.
