So I just deleted ALL my pictures by accident. My entire collection of over 10,000 pictures. I don't have a backup of any taken in the last two years.

After I deleted, I went and installed an undelete program immediately (demo version) and it recovered the pictures, but only the first 64 kb of each one! So then I'm like ******, I need these so I bought the full version. But when I went back to scan for recoverable files, the pictures were gone! So now all I've got left is these fractions of pictures.

Is there anything I can do or should I just start crying now because I lost all my pictures from high school graduation, prom, and first year of university? :(

Thanks... =/

I used active undelete. The most frustrating thing is, though, that if I never tried the trial version in the first place, I would probably have been able to recover all the files, rather than just parts of each file.

I know, stupid on my part to not make backups, but with the amount of pictures I've got, they take three DVDs to back up each time now, and I just got lazy.

Sigh... thanks for the suggestion but that program can't find the original deleted ones either.

Why do you backup the same images more than once? :confused:

Ah, the way I organize my images, they're by type, not date, because there are just too many different kinds that I need to differentiate between. So I don't know any good way I can organize them optimally and still have them by date.

I uploaded the program I use to my ftp. Grab it and enjoy your photos.

Just last week I accidentally shift+deleted my entire music directory. This handy little ah heck saved it all for me!

I tried that too, along with a bunch of other programs, but after the first failed restore, the files seem to be completely gone. The programs don't find anything. :(
