I think it is your own ignorance and narrowmindedness that shows how weak your argument is. Just because you don't get confused by something means that no one else should, especially seniors who are more easily confused than anyone. You don't see scam artists on the phone trying steal the life savings of young people do you? Besides that, those people received a sample ballot that had two sets of holes and in that ballot Al Gore was the second hole down. They don't normally switch the style of ballot from the sample, so these people thought that they were doing exactly what they had practiced at home, and had no reason to scrutinize the ballot and make sure it wasn't different. These people weren't trying to solve a puzzle or take an iq test, they were trying to vote for the man that they believed should be president. If you think all of the people who voted for Bush in states like Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, etc. are brain surgeons then you're totally wrong. If Bush wants to win simply because some people were confused and not because he was the person that most voters wanted to win, that's his choice. He didn't win the popular vote and he only won the electoral vote on a fluke. What a president!
