Deleted Files

Is there a way to restore deleted files? They are not in the recycle bin, they are gone. Thought taht they were transferred to another directory, I was wrong. These were mp3 files, and not mine, but a friends system W98.

If you deleted them by accident, you can try recover utilites that Norton Utilities or SystemWorks. If it's a text file, it will be very easy. Other than that, you will have a difficult time recovering it.

Do a web search for "Undelete" or "Unerase" programs. You be able to find a few to download from cnet. I undeleted some files a few monthes ago, using a sharware program that I no longer have. They are out there to find. Just don't write any massive files to your hard drive until you can download of the the undelete programs.

Start using Norton Utilities - they've got a "norton recycle bin protector" which is a fancy name for a pretty good undelete program.

These were mp3 files, and with Napster gone they are irreplacable.

A real good program, also, is Powerquest's Lost & Found. I've saved my @ss numerous times using it!
