I ordered my system from newegg on Sunday. Shipped today from California and should get here Thursday. Woohoo! I guess I'll see if there's anything to this G0 claim. Newegg did bump the price up $5 today either anticipating demand because they do have G0s or in response to everyone buying into the "OMG they have G0!!!!"

Can anyone confirm that they received a G0 from the egg? Thread sorta died about a week ago for some reason...

Tankguys and ClubIT (the two places that seem to ensure the stepping) are listed as OOS. The egg has them but currently running $315. I think it might be worth it if someone could confirm the stepping they are getting.

They ship according to your geographical location. If the item(s) you ordered are available in the warehouse closest to you, they'll ship from there. I typically receive stuff from the NJ warehouse since I'm in Pennsylvania. When I was in California, I received most of my stuff from the CA warehouse.

I'm getting Q6600 from Newegg today (well it is at the UPS facility now...I missed the UPS guy)
The CPU is from CA warehouse. I live in the Boston area, usually it would get from NJ.

PS. Before I place an order, I talked to the Newegg Tech to verify which warehouse has the ITEM # that I interest. He said the Q6600 is only available at CA warehouse.

Any suggestion for OC this thing?

I have:

EVGA 680SLI A1 version
Ultra ChillTec Cooler
Corsair HX620W
Patriot 1GB x 4 DDR2-6400 LLK (Low Latency)
Zalman Z-Machine GT-1000 (arrive from Newegg today as well)

Crap! my Q6600 arrived today with SL9UM.

They still manufacture B3 revision in July? The Pack Date on the box is 07/30/2007.

The FPO/BATCH gives you when the CPU was made.. It will be something like:

L712A362

The 712- indicates it was made week 12 of 2007 ...

After your purchase, if the designation "B3" or "G0" doesn't show up on the retail box label or the stamp on the heatspreader, look for the five-character production code on either the box or heatspreader and match it to the stepping at the Intel web-site "processor specification" pages.

That shows my memory is following the aging pattern, but it seems worse because I can't even remember the five-character code at the moment for the B3 (which I have).

For Q6600

SL9UM = B3

SLACR = G0

There are multiple factories producing cores, not all of them have switched over yet.

I got a B3 as well from the Egg :(

That blows.

I had hoped most if not all the B3's would be cleaned out by now. Couple more weeks maybe?

Well I got a B3, but I'm not disappointed at all. 355x9 for 3.19GHz with 1.32 volts and my average core temp is 60 degrees. Core 0 and 1 seem to run ~4 degrees warmer than the other 2. I'm using a Freezer 7 for cooling by the way.

Yes, we know. But, for $274.99 shipped (with the now expired 20off100 coupon) Newegg was simply the better deal for any quad. I guess I'm just willing to wait longer for a sure G0 for ~$270.

Yeah, he started the thread back when no one claimed to have a G0 from the egg, just random reviews that at no point claimed to buy them from newegg. (you dont have to have bought the product from NE to review it)

A title edit would be nice :p

I did talk about why i bought from the egg.

So are there any estimates yet related to the actual overclocking advantage a G0 has over B3? 100-300mhz? I just got my G0. Is it reasonable to expect 3.4-3.6ghz at 1.45V?
