Yeah, I was told it would run either one. BTW, I won't mix PC100 and PC133. I have plenty of each.
 
I'm 99.99% sure that it will work (unless of course, your stepfather is into Kick Boxing/ Wrestling etc - in which case I'd have to say 98.99% (he can beat up the other guy then!)

In fact PC133 Mhz SDRAM is backwards compatible with all types of 168pin SDRAM (PC66, PC100 & PC133). On older machines it is worth checking with the motherboard manual since the board may only take a maximum of 32Mb or 64Mb per chip (in other words, 2 x 32Mb rather than 1 x 64). When I say old, I mean Pentium/ Pentium MMX class machines. Your K6-2 will probably accept 128 or even 256Mb chips.
 
You CAN mix PC100 and PC133 (or PC66)on the same board.

The only limitation is that if your board is set to 100mhz, your PC133 memory will only operate at 100Mhz. If you're buying memory, I would always recommend buying PC133 as the difference in price is negligable and the PC133 can be used in a new(ish) machine should you ever decide to upgrade. Stick in a PC100 chip and you might as well say goodbye to ever using it again. Yes it will work in a new system, but you wouldn't want to put it in a 1.33Gig 266Mhz Tbird would you?

No, I have 256 mb of PC133 cas2 for my rig. The machine I'm talking about is the parents' casino game machine(we all have one of those to take care of, don't we?)
 
you s/b okay with the PC133 RAM in that machine. Most of the K6-2 compatible stuff is new enough to take the SDRAM. Sometimes the older ones do only take EDO RAM DIMMS which means the PC133/00/66 won't work, but I usually try to find the mobo manual online to make sure.

I am 45mi. away from the K6 so I can't get the #s off of it to get manual online. Maybe it'll all just work when I plug it in. (Positive Thinking)ha

depends on the chipset that is in that MB.

If it is the intel TX chipset, you may find both 72 pin simm and 2 DIMM on that board. If so, you can place in pc100 sdram in there, and it should work. Just do not go over 128 MB of ram.(it might be 256, but I can not remember). Also, do not mix 72 with 168 Pin ram unless they are the same type of ram.
