The part you care about:
Just bring your return to any Staples store. If you don't have your receipt your return is eligible only for an in?store credit. Any return without a receipt is subject to verification and requires a valid state identification or passport. We carefully monitor our refunds and in some rare cases returns made without receipts may be refused.

Yes guys, I read this....by my main question is, can I return this product that was bought ONLINE but not actually sold in the retail stores?

If you continue reading it says:
If you ordered through our catalog or Staples.com®, you can also have us pick up your return ? just call 1?800?333?3330 or go to support@orders.staples.com. For delivered items, we?ll refund your delivery charges if the item is defective.

I think its safe to say that if they'll pick up your return, then they'll probably be more than glad to take in store.

Just bring in a printout of the item from the online store so if they need to find it they can.
