Well, whatever you decide to do, dont buy it refurbished.

If I were you, I'd go for the X18XT 256 and "suffer" until DX10 to upgrade again.

DX10 isnt til 07. But DX10 cards will probably be out before even before Vista comes out.
You could always sell your X1900XT card.

Thanks for all the help. Decided to save myself $ and heartache and just got a X1800XT 512 MB.

Cant wait to do 1280x1024 in widescreen goodness. Thanks for the help.

Well, you probably still have the warranty from the manufacturer so you can always RMA it. And about Oblivion... damn... I went from an X850XTPE to an X1800XT 512 and it is unbelievable (4xAA with HDR looks sooo good)
