Not yet. After I get all new parts for this system, what I have now will become one
(Except for the RAM, ill be keeping that in this machine and buying anther 512MB for the HTPC)
The 120GB HD will stay for the HTPC and then all recorded videos will be stored via network drive on my new machine

An old computer doubles as my htpc. p4 2.4 ghz, 512 mb ram, fx5200 w/ passive cooling, and an old 160 gb hard drive and an 80 gb hard drive. Runs cool and quiet and fits my needs...

Okay, stupid question. I'm building a HTPC for my supervisor. He wants two tuner cards. Will onboard video suffice, or does he need to get a decent video card. Money isn't much of a concern, but he doesn't want to get unnecessary stuff. I'm trying to figure this out by looking at peoples' specs, but everyone seems to have dual-duty machines... And I'm not a computer newb, just HTPC newb. I deal more in the server realm.

Have one i am using now but it is only for a 480i (640x480) normal CRT TV. but it would work good for any TV really.. Still looking for a capture card.

Chaintech VNF3-250 Mobo
AMD Sempron64 2600+ @ 2.0Ghz Stock Voltage
Nvidia 6800NU with Artic Cooler NV5 Rev.3
2x 80GB 7200rpm Hard Drives
Chaintech 7.1 Sound Card
512MB DDR400 2.5x3x3x8

Your question about VideoCard:
Having a good video card matter when you think about if you want to process some of the data with your Video Card (faster en/decodeing if you have the right software and hardware), better Output, faster performance if you play games on your HTPC. But it all comes down to what your customer wants his HTPC to do?

Also i like to look at www.htpcnews.com
