That can sometimes happen when you install the OS on a PATA drive, later connect an SATA drive, and then reboot into your PATA boot drive.

If that's the case, then you just have to disconnect any PATA drive, and reinstall the OS on your SATA drive. Then after successfully installing the OS on your SATA drive, you can reconnect the PATA drive onto the motherboard, and you won't encounter the above stated problem 🙂
