Not that difficult, pay the $175 and call it a day. That's why it's a CONTRACT, so deadbeats like you can't weasel out of them.

you'll have to give some reason, if it's legitimate and related to the contract we can help you out maybe.

but in all reality, no, pay the 175 or finish off your contract, whichever is cheaper.

I am trying to sell my equipment (VX6000, 2 months old, with car charger and leather case)

Anyone interested!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys...is there a way to avaid $175 early termination fee

you cannot avoid it but the only way i can see you could recover some money is if you got a nice phone and you sell it on ebay after you terminate with vzw. some phones like the higher end cdma samsungs and lgs can gather as much as $200 on ebay.

i've cancelled my contracts with Nextel, T-Mobile and USCellular before for various reasons and paid the fee every time but I almost always can recover part of my cancellation fee because I pick the handset strategically.

Is the VX6000 even made anymore? I'm looking on the Verizon website and they only list the VX6100 for my zip code.

a quick look on ebay suggests that you should be able to sell it for around $140 with those extras.

I am not sure...if they have the 6100...then 6000 is probably discontinued

6000 is a sweet phone, you can assign ringtones and use .mp3s for ringtones .. thats what i have 🙂

Take them to court and try to void the contract or atleast cross out the early termination clause. Try arguing something like not having bargining power and that it's an unfair clause. Probably won't work since you could have went with someone else, but if all cell phone comapanies have those clauses you might beable to pull it off.

Anyone who buys a phone off eBay is a complete moron. I guess there is a sucker born every minute.

Verizon's website is selling the VX6100 for $99.00, and the VX7000 for $149.00.

why are you canceling? if its because of bad signal just bitch about it every day for a month to build up a file then demand to be let out of your contract
