update 2 ok, got the system to boot, but it gives me this msg:
CPU has been changed or CPU ratio change failded. Please re-enter cpu setting on the CMOS start-up & remember to save before quit.

now yesterday i "cleared" the CMOS by switching jumper5 to pin 2-3 for 10 secs, then back to pins 1-2.

I have no clue what this means or what the fvck i am doing


update ok, switched everything over, tried to turn it on, got long beep, pause, long beep, pause, long beep etc. opened her back up and fixed some obvious things(not so obvious for me )Then i go back, and still the beeps, whats going on???


Ok, im switching out motherboards, there isnt anything i have to do, do i? just unplug everything, and plug it into the other one, right?

Pretty much. Just be sure the new board isn't shorting against the case anywhere and you're good to go.

shorting? you mean mount it on jumpers right so nothing shorts out?

Basically. Just mount it the same way the old board was mounted. Then just check quickly that the board isn't contacting the case anywhere besides where it should.

Check your ram and vid card are seated properly. They often need a good push to get them to fit all the way into their respective slots.

See if you can look up in the board manual what the beep codes mean. Usually something isn't seated right - video card, processor, etc.

i reseated my video card, the ddr, and the HSF, still beeps. going to go check soyo's website for beep codes.

edit seems,from soyo, the beep code is telling me it cant detect my ram

Try different slots, and one stick at a time if you have more than one.

I had a problem like that, turns out the RAM i had used died. I popped in a new stick of RAM and worked fine

well, definetly a ram issue, i changed the ddr to dimm 2 and the beeps change to continuous short beeps. soyo says:

indicating memory issue. Please change your memory to a different slot or change to a different memory

im going to go to dimm 3, but how could the ram go bad in a matter of 5 hours(was just using the pc)...unless i fvcked it up somehow

same short beeps in dimm 3. i guess ill have to wait til tomorrow when i can go get some ddr. this stick was my only 1. Wierd thing happened this time though, i turned on the surge protector(i turn it off before i unplug stuff) and the tower turned on without me pushing the button. aye
