I keep seeing 18 awg and 20 awg recommended. I'm thinking 18 awg, as it can't hurt... I'm making new cables for my fan controllers, by the way.

With the monster EnerMax the wire runs are long, so nothing short of 18AWG.

18ga is the biggest ever needed in a PC case. For lengths of 18" or less, 20 ga. wuld be just fine. Current carrying capacity increases inversely with length of wire.
