DELETE PLEASE (oops...device manager doesn't show wireless adapter)

ok, don;t know what I did exactly, but when i turn on my comouter, it only shows the Local Area Connection when I go to my Network Connections. I ave no idea where the Wireless Connection went. I checked Device Manager and under Network Adapters it shows Inte(R) PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection. The Inte)R_ PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter is missing there. But when I click to Show hidden devices, the Packet Schedule Miniport for oth the Mobile Connection and Wireless Connection are there.

How do I get the laptop to recognize that I have the Inte)R_ PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter internally?

Thanks.

bump.

please - somebody out there muxt know how i can fix this. i ran the network diagnostics and it shows that the Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection and Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter both passed.

but i still can't find the wireless adapter in teh Device Manager. And I still only have the LAN Local Area Connection in my Network Connections. Still no Wireless.

PLEASE HELP!!!

What kind of system is it?

I know some of the newer Thinkpad laptops have a switch on the front that will turn the card on and off.

thanks for replying - but i ended up opening the laptop, and removed the wireless card and reinserted it and not it's detectable. I'm still having trouble with the connection though - even though the computer says that the device is working properly, i can't seem to hold onto a wireless connection for more than a minute. see my other thread if you have advice.
