Delayed Write Failures on multiple drives/controllers

I'm getting delayed write failures in Win2K SP4.

They happen almost solely when playing Planetside or Arcanum.

The drive on which my games and swap file were located, a WD Raptor(74G), started around this time to make a weird whining sound, so I moved all the data off it onto another partition on another drive, on another controller, moved the swap file as well.

The errors started happening again, very shortly thereafter.

The first drive on which this happened was a Raptor SATA drive.

The drive it's happening on now is a SCSI Quantum Atlas 10K II.

I'm rather puzzled, since I'm pretty sure the odds of both drives failing at the same time are, well, pretty low.

Is it possible that the data that I copied from one drive to the other was corrupted, and is causing the errors on the second drive now?

What else could cause this error, that would be independent of both drives and both controllers?

Delayed write failed are usualy caused by one of 3 things, 1 bad HDD's, 2 bad drivers, or 3 Bad Cableing / Termination it's very possibly you had a Bad Raptor and might not have a properly terminated Atlas Drive. I'd suggest checking your cabeling. Good luck... 🙂

The termination on the SCSI drive's good, and the Raptor I already know is shot.

What puzzles me is that the SCSI drive only did this AFTER I moved the contents of the Raptor onto the SCSI drive.
