I am having problems with my external hard drive enclosure, which has firewire and usb 2.0 connections. It is connected to a W2K PC. When I am reading and writing to the external hard drives, I get "Delayed write failure" error, and the hard drives get locked, they are no more accessible, and I have to reboot. I tried to find a fix on MS support web site but no luck there. The vendor that I got the enclosure from is not helping at all, in terms of providing a firmware upgrade.

Anybody has any suggestions to fix this problem ?

First are you using the firewire or the USB connection? Does the problem happen if you switch to the 'other' one? I know Xplay had this problem with the original iPods and some firewire cards which wheren't quite up to spec.

I have 4 bays on the enclosure. Two, master+slave combinations. I have 4 firewire outputs and 2 usb2 outputs. The problem happens when I use firewire outputs (daisy chained). If I use only one usb port, it does not happen. If I use two usb ports it happens again.
