I remember reading a post before about the same subject a long while ago, I did a search but couldn't find any.

Anyway, my problem is this. When I have an ethernet card installed in my comp when I am loading windows or putting my machine on sleep mode is pauses for about 30 seconds. I know for sure it is looking for a network, I remember someone mentioned that if you set it to a certain IP adress or something to that extent it would fix it. I have been messing around in the Control Panel -> networking section but I have not yet been able to fix the problem. Have any of you run into this and know how to fix it?
Thanks

if your machine is connected directly to the dsl thing and your getting an IP via DHCP.. then that could be the delay.
However if not..then for TCP/IP for your network, give an ip of "192.168.0.10"
subnet "255.255.255.0"

and reboot.
