Since i am plannnig to change my current eizo f-520 17" crt for some lcd screen at least as accurate concerning colors (just asuming f520 was so) i have found an offer for dell 2005 fpw for 478?. I am planning to use it mainly for photoshop. Is it a good monitor? Is it worth that money? Has it got still the early-time backlighting problems?. Thanks a lot in advance
I forgot to mention i am connecting it to an abit ati x700 pro 256mb.
Does anybody out there had the opportunity to compare these two monitors or, if not, somone able to tell me what the difference would be like?

I don't have it, but from the reviews I heard it's great. If you can stretch your budget to a 2405fpw, it'd be so much better.

unfortunately i have already stretched my initial budget to reach those 478, so even though i am sure it would be another world, i am afraid i cannot afford a 2405. Thanks anyway.
As a matter of fact my initial thoughts were about an hitachi q19.

Another question related with it. Does it include a dvi-d cable? If not, how do i identify a good one (i mean, how to choose a good one and what makes it different from a cheaper one).

I own this monitor and the only opinion that I can give you is to press the add to cart button ASAP. This monitor rocks and is widescreen to boot! Gaming is gorgeous on it, and the response time is more than fine as I see no ghosting. Buy it now!

I just got this montior last week. Image Quality seems good, the color and contract is very bright and images are very sharp on it. It does make my Sony 19"CRT by the side looks totaly dull. However, if you plan on gaming, you are still better off with a CRT. Everything goes completely burrly whenever things move on the screen.

i just bought the dell 2005fpw today, should be shipped in 1 1/2 weeks. I just have one question, does the dell 2005fpw have a 9in1 flash card reader like the 2405fpw? The flash card reader is for reading my memory stick from my digi cam

I have it, no ghosting at all nor dead pixels. I got an 800xl and all games maxed .

There is a bit of back light , but not enough for you to not consider buying it.

You also might want to check out the new 21" Gateway widescreen LCD. Here's the specs. The Gateway monitor has a really nice video processor and even has component inputs for hooking up a DVD player or HD cable box. It also has HDCP support on the DVI input, so that it will be able to play back HD content in Windows Vista, while the 2005FPW won't.

The Gateway is going to cost more than the Dell right now since the new monitor doesn't have the crazy coupon deals going that Dell does on the 2005FPW (it usually goes down to around $400 when there are specials), but there might be some Gateway deals just before or shortly after Christmas (especially if the large LCD supply exceeds demand in early 2006, as it is expected to do). It might be worth the extra cash to get thee HDCP down the road, though, if they lock down the DVI ports on Vista as expected.

its an awesome monitor, buy it now. btw dell also has nice 19inch flat panels

i got the 2005fpw in the recent dell deals.. i love it. turn down the brightness when you get it though.. was giving me headaches.

Ordered one last week and still waiting for it to arrive. For $398.00 you can't beat it. So far I have yet to hear anything negative compare to regular 19" LCD.

i have 2 on a 7800GT and it is heaven. buy it. now.

no ghosting and i play games all the time...doom 3, HL2, etc.

they are worth every penny.
